Shukra Nakshatra Peyarchi — 2026
♀Also known as Venus Nakshatra Calendar, Shukra Nakshatra Gochar, or Venus Yearly Nakshatra Transit.
Every Venus Nakshatra visit for 2026 with pada-level entry / exit times. Retrograde re-entries appear as their own cards. Paginate any year with the arrows below.
Note: All calculations use Lahiri Ayanamsa (sidereal) and Swiss Ephemeris. Venus takes 20–30 days per Nakshatra when direct; a retrograde year adds re-entries so most years contain 18–22 visits total. Retrograde entries appear as separate cards with a Rx badge, matching how Vedic almanacs table Peyarchi events.
About Shukra Nakshatra Peyarchi 2026
Venus Nakshatra Calendar 2026 — what this timeline shows
This is the complete Venus Nakshatra calendar for 2026 — every Venus Nakshatra visit for the year, ordered chronologically, with pada-level entry and exit times. The same calendar is known by several regional names:
- Venus Nakshatra Calendar 2026 — pan-Indian English name emphasising Nakshatra transitions.
- Shukra Nakshatra Peyarchi 2026 (சுக்ர நக்ஷத்ர பெயர்ச்சி) — Tamil / South Indian name; Peyarchi literally means “transit”.
- Shukra Nakshatra Gochar 2026 (शुक्र नक्षत्र गोचर) — North Indian Hindi name; Gochar means “movement across the sky”.
- Venus Yearly Nakshatra Transit 2026 — English name used in Western Vedic astrology.
Unlike the Sun (which crosses exactly 27 Nakshatras per year without exception), Venus goes retrograde roughly every 19 months for ~40 days and can re-enter previous Nakshatras during that reverse motion. Most years contain 18–22 visits — fewer forward visits (~20–27 days each) plus any retrograde re-entries as separate cards.
What each card shows
- Nakshatra name + symbol — the Nakshatra Venus is currently transiting.
- Ruling planet + presiding deity — e.g. Bharani is ruled by Venus with Yama as its deity; Rohini is ruled by the Moon with Brahma as deity.
- Entry / exit times in your local timezone — the exact moments Venus crossed into and will leave this Nakshatra.
- Duration — typically 20–30 days when direct; retrograde re-entries can be shorter.
- Pada breakdown — each Nakshatra is divided into four ~3.3° padas. Each pada shows its own start and end times.
- ♀ Venus-owned badge — visible on Bharani, Purva-Phalguni, and Purva-Ashadha.
- ↺ Retrograde badge — visible when the card represents a retrograde re-entry.
- ☼ Combust badge — visible when the visit overlaps with a Venus combustion window.
The three Venus-owned Nakshatras
In the classical Vimshottari Dasha order, three Nakshatras have Venus (Shukra) as their ruling planet — called “Venus-owned Nakshatras” here:
- Bharani (भरणी) — 13°20′ to 26°40′ Aries. Deity: Yama. Classically associated with birth, death, and transformative cycles; Venus in Bharani intensifies desire and creative drive.
- Purva-Phalguni (पूर्व फल्गुनी) — 13°20′ to 26°40′ Leo. Deity: Bhaga. Classically favoured for weddings, sensory pleasure, and enjoyment; Venus in Purva-Phalguni is one of its most classically auspicious placements.
- Purva-Ashadha (पूर्व आषाढ़) — 13°20′ to 26°40′ Sagittarius. Deity: Apah (water). Associated with purification, invincibility, and eventual triumph; favoured for challenging beginnings.
When Venus transits one of these, classical Muhurta considers Venus-signified affairs (marriage, engagement, artistic launches, gemstone charging, Lakshmi worship) strengthened. This calendar highlights these visits with a Venus-owned badge, a subtle Venus-pink card tint, and a dedicated filter chip.
Retrograde re-entries — why the same Nakshatra can appear twice
Venus goes retrograde roughly every 19 months and can cross a Nakshatra boundary backwards, re-entering the previous Nakshatra for a second visit before turning direct and exiting for good. When this happens inside your year, the timeline returns two separate cards for the same Nakshatra — the initial forward visit and the retrograde re-entry — each with its own entry and exit time. The retrograde re-entry card carries an amber Retrograde badge. This mirrors how Vedic almanacs table Peyarchi events.
Combust (Shukra Asta) badge — overlap detection
Venus is combust when within 10° of the Sun while direct, or 8° while retrograde — the classical Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra thresholds. Combust windows happen roughly twice a year at Sun-Venus conjunctions. Any Nakshatra visit whose window overlaps with a combust window gets a red Combust badge on the card. Classical Muhurta traditionally avoids combust days for weddings, engagement announcements, and cosmetic launches.
Venus Nakshatra vs. Venus Sign (Rashi) — different granularity
The Venus Sign (Rashi) calendar — called Shukra Rashi Peyarchi (also known as Shukra Peyarchi) — tracks Venus through the 12 signs of ~23–30 days each. This calendar tracks the finer 27-Nakshatra layer with visits of ~20–30 days each. Both use sidereal Lahiri Ayanamsha. Use the Sign calendar for wide dignity windows (exalted in Pisces, debilitated in Virgo); use this Nakshatra calendar for muhurta selection and Nakshatra-based readings.
Common questions this page answers
Between the year navigator, the Venus-owned filter chip, and the info badges on each card, most Venus-Nakshatra timing questions are answered directly:
- When is Venus in Bharani in 2026? — click the Venus-owned filter, then look at the Bharani card(s).
- When is Venus in Purva-Phalguni in 2026? — Venus-owned filter, second card.
- When is Venus in Purva-Ashadha in 2026? — Venus-owned filter, third card.
- When is Venus in Rohini / Pushya / Hasta / Revati in 2026? — scroll to the relevant Nakshatra card. Each shows entry, exit, duration, and any Rx/Combust badges.
- When is Venus retrograde in 2026? — look for any card carrying the amber Retrograde badge. Retrograde re-entries are their own cards.
- When is Venus combust in 2026? — look for any card carrying the red Combust badge.
- Which Venus Nakshatra was I born under? — find your birth date on this timeline. For an exact sunrise-based reading, use the Date Lookup tool.
The Venus-owned filter runs entirely client-side — instant, no server round-trip. All cards remain in the underlying page HTML so browser Ctrl+F, anchor deep-links, and search engines still see every visit regardless of the active filter.
How the events are calculated
Every Nakshatra entry, pada boundary, retrograde station, and combust boundary in the 2026 timeline is computed via Swiss Ephemeris DE431 with Lahiri Ayanamsha, resolved to the exact ephemeris instant via binary search. Nakshatra boundaries fall at every 13°20′ of sidereal longitude; pada boundaries at every 3°20′. Retrograde stations are found by tracking when Venus's sidereal speed reverses sign; combust boundaries by tracking the Sun-Venus angular distance against the classical 10° direct / 8° retrograde threshold. No analytical formulas or approximations are used.
