Where is Venus right now?
The Live Tracker shows Venus's current sidereal position — computed from the Swiss Ephemeris DE431 planetary dataset at the exact moment you load this page. The readout uses Lahiri Ayanamsha to convert tropical longitude to sidereal, matching what Vedic panchang publications and traditional Muhurta software report. Because Venus takes 23–30 days to cross one sign when direct, the position card updates slowly — refreshing the page a few minutes later will not shift the sign, only the degree.
What each field means
- Sign (Rashi) — the sidereal zodiac sign Venus currently occupies, out of 12.
- Nakshatra & Pada — the specific lunar mansion and quarter (out of 27 nakshatras × 4 padas each). Determines the daily "flavor" of Venus energy in traditional readings.
- Degree — exact sidereal longitude within the sign, displayed as degrees ° minutes' seconds".
- Retrograde flag — whether Venus's sidereal speed is currently negative (moving backward). Venus is retrograde ~40 days out of every ~19 months.
- Combust flag — whether Venus is within 10° of the Sun (direct) or 8° (retrograde), the Surya Siddhanta combustion thresholds. Distance to Sun also shown.
- Dignity — which of these states Venus is in right now:
- Exalted — all of Pisces
- Moolatrikona — Libra 0°00'00"–15°00'00"
