Ketu Live Tracker
☋Where is Ketu right now? Its live sidereal position — sign, nakshatra, pada and dignity, with Rahu's mirror position for the full axis.
Note: All calculations use Lahiri Ayanamsa (sidereal) and Swiss Ephemeris for high precision, using the true node rather than the mean node. Times are displayed in your local timezone. Ketu and its opposite point Rahu sit exactly 180° apart at every instant and move backwards continuously at about 0.05° per day, taking roughly 18 months to cross a sign and around seven months to cross a Nakshatra. They are permanently retrograde and are never combust, so no motion or combustion state is shown.
About the Live Ketu Position (Ketu Gochar Now)
Where is Ketu right now?
This tracker shows the live sidereal position of Ketu (the south lunar node) — sign, nakshatra, pada and exact degree — alongside Rahu (the north node), the opposite end of the axis.
The two are always exactly 180° apart, so they are shown together. Ketu is derived from Rahu at every instant rather than computed separately, which guarantees the axis can never drift out of opposition.
Why there is no retrograde or combust indicator
The nodes are not physical bodies — they are the points where the Moon's orbit crosses the ecliptic. Classical practice therefore treats them as permanently retrograde. The true node used here does drift forward for a few days at a time, roughly a quarter of all days, but never long enough to form a station or a window worth flagging. They are also never combust, because there is no body for the Sun's rays to overwhelm. Both indicators are deliberately absent here rather than shown as always-on.
How often the position changes
Ketu moves backwards at roughly 0.05° per day, taking about 18 months to cross a sign and around 18.6 years for a full circuit. The degree readout will shift within a day; the sign and nakshatra change far more slowly. For the full year's sign and nakshatra changes, use the Ketu Peyarchi timeline.
